This guide provides general information and does not replace instructions from Traffic, Road Security, or emergency teams at the scene. For injury, fire, or immediate danger, contact the appropriate authority before requesting an ordinary tow.
1. Assess danger before taking action
If the vehicle can be moved safely and the authority permits it, get away from moving traffic. Activate hazard lights and do not stand behind the vehicle or in a traffic lane. Do not attempt repairs beside fast traffic or near a leak or smoke.
2. Contact the correct authority in an emergency
Saudi Arabia’s National Platform lists 993 for traffic accidents, 996 for Road Security, 997 for ambulance, 911 as the unified emergency number, and 112 for emergency calls without a SIM. Assess the situation and follow the authority’s instructions.
3. Share an accurate location
Send a location link, direction of travel, nearest exit or landmark, and a safe photo of the vehicle and surroundings. The Saudi Red Crescent notes that the Asefni app can provide precise location information for medical dispatch when needed.
4. Prepare the towing details
- Pickup location and requested destination
- Vehicle type, model, and condition
- Do the wheels and steering move? Is a wheel missing or is there underside damage?
- Has the authority permitted the vehicle to be moved after an accident?
5. Confirm the service before dispatch
Ask for confirmation of equipment, availability, price, and a current arrival estimate. Do not rely on a fixed time or price before the location and vehicle condition are reviewed.
