Flatbed names are used differently by operators. The correct choice depends on loading angle, clearance, wheel condition, damage, and approach space—not the label alone. Available suitable equipment must be confirmed before dispatch.
Standard carrier or flatbed
It may suit a compatible vehicle that can be winched onto the deck at a safe angle. Clearance, approach space, and wheel condition are essential.
Hydraulic flatbed
The term generally describes a hydraulically moving deck, but operating angle and capacity vary by truck. Ask for the actual equipment specification.
Full-down or low-angle loading
A lower loading angle may help some low-clearance vehicles, but it does not guarantee suitability for every vehicle or damage condition. Clearance and loading points still require review.
Information that determines the choice
- Vehicle type, approximate weight, and drivetrain
- Front/rear clearance and any suspension-height modification
- Wheel, steering, brake, and neutral condition
- Underside damage or missing/locked wheels
- Approach space, height, gates, and ramps at both locations
Photos that help assessment
Send one complete side photo, images of damaged wheels, and a forward view of the truck approach. Do not stand in traffic or an unsafe position to take a photo.
